Warmer weather means more outdoor photoshoots. For this engagement session, we headed down to Cherry Beach. I love this location because it has so much variety from sandy beaches, to lush green trees, to worn out buildings. It’s also close enough to Polsen pier if you want to make a quick stop to take some photos with the Toronto skyline in the background.
Here’s a sneak peek from my first engagement shoot of the season. Cheers!
Anyone that knows me, knows that newborn babies are one of my top 10 favourite things in life. I mean… that intoxicatingly delicious new baby smell… can someone just bottle that up for me!?
Anyways, so even though I’m not typically a newborn photographer, I couldn’t pass up the chance to hang out with this little human (plus.. his dad reminded me that 3 years ago, I had jokingly promised to take newborn photos for him if he ever decided to have kids).
This little cutie is only 3 weeks old, but he was very active and curious about what was happening around him the whole time. Though this made some of the poses a little bit more difficult, I think we ended up with a few really great shots. Hope you like them!
This little 8 month old girl was one of the most delightful babies I’ve ever worked with. With the beautiful spring weather, we decided to pack a picnic and head to High Park for some fun outdoor photos. I hope you like them! xox
I had the pleasure of photographing possibly the most perfect couple ever at the most perfect cottage wedding. I’ve always thought that I wanted a huge wedding but after experiencing their intimate wedding, I may have a change in heart. I hope you enjoy the photos!
If there’s one thing in the world I can’t get enough of, it’s babies. There is absolutely nothing I love more than cuddling a newborn and just taking in their intoxicatingly delicious new baby smell. (Is that creepy? Other people feel this way too, right?) Well luckily for me, we just had two little ones join the family this year! And there’s plenty more to come!
Anyways.. some of you may remember Rachel from my Europe posts. She’s the craziest, funnest, and most ridiculous girl I know and she has added so much colour into my already colourful life. She’s expecting her first baby so of course I had to grab the camera and snap some photos of her gorgeous baby bump. She’s 8 months pregnant here and she kept saying that she felt huge and wasn’t loving the way she looked. Please tell her that her she’s crazy!
Hope you like the photos!
I’ve had a few people ask about this photo so here are some tips if you want to take one for yourself. This was taken against a plain wall with a big window in front of her. We wrapped a bed sheet and she held the one end together with her hand that’s hidden. Remember to pull tightly around the bust and belly to really show off the shape of the body. We had to carefully fold each of those little creases to make sure the sheet laid nice and flat against her body.
Since we had a big white sheet handy, we hung it from one of the windows in her living room and used it as a plain backdrop that also doubled as some nice back lighting.
We used the bed sheet again here and just laid it on the couch to give a non-distracting surface so we could keep the focus on her.

One of my best friends will soon be tying the knot with her Mr. Right. As a bridesmaid, there’s always this tiny fear that your wonderful, level minded friend will somehow turn into a god awful bride-zilla. Thankfully, she’s been very calm and collected… though even if she weren’t, I definitely know better than to say otherwise.
So far, my only bridesmaid duty has been to help her take some engagement photos for her “save the date” invitations. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the shots from the very cold and cloudy day in Toronto.
As adverse to marriage as I am, I’d have a hard time saying ‘no’ to a ring like that!
